Air Dolomiti, an Italian regional airline and part of the Lufthansa Group, offers a flexible flight change policy to accommodate passengers needing to modify their travel plans. Changes can be made online, via the mobile app, through the Sales Center, or at airport ticket counters, subject to fare rules and availability.
Key Policy Highlights
- Risk-Free Period: Changes or cancellations are free within 24 hours of booking for tickets purchased directly through Air Dolomiti’s website, mobile app, or Sales Center, provided the booking is made at least seven days before departure.
- Eligible Tickets: Most fare types, including Economy Classic, Economy Flex, Economy Green, Business, and Business Flex, allow changes. Economy Light and Business Saver fares do not permit rebooking.
- Fare Difference: If the new flight is more expensive, passengers must pay the fare difference based on the applicable fare at the time of re-issuance. No refund is provided if the new flight is cheaper, unless specified by the fare type.
- Change Fees: Fees vary by fare type. Economy Classic and Economy Green fares incur a fee per change, while Economy Flex and Business Flex fares allow changes without fees. Business fares may also be fee-free but are subject to fare differences.
- Same-Day Changes: Same-day changes are permitted prior to departure, subject to availability. Fees apply for Economy Classic and Economy Green, while Economy Flex and Business fares may allow fee-free changes.
- Name Changes: Full name changes are not allowed. Minor corrections (up to three characters in the first, middle, or last name) are permitted with documentation, such as for marriage or divorce, and may be free within 24 hours of booking.
- Third-Party Bookings: Tickets booked through travel agencies or third-party platforms must be changed through the original booking source, and Air Dolomiti’s policy may not fully apply.
- Time Restrictions: Changes must be made before the scheduled departure of the flight. For return flights, changes are allowed only after the outbound flight is completed. No-show tickets (changes requested after departure) may result in forfeiture of the ticket’s value.
- Sequential Use: Flight segments must be used in order; skipping a segment may cancel remaining segments of the itinerary.
How to Change Your Flight
Online:
- Visit the Air Dolomiti website or mobile app and navigate to the “Manage Booking” section.
- Enter your six-character reservation confirmation code and last name to retrieve your booking.
- Select the flight to modify, choose a new flight, and review any fees or fare differences.
- Complete the payment process, if applicable, and receive confirmation via email.
Offline:
- Contact the Air Dolomiti Sales Center via phone or email for assistance.
- Visit an Air Dolomiti ticket counter or office at the airport for in-person changes.
Special Circumstances
- Airline-Initiated Changes: If Air Dolomiti cancels or significantly delays a flight (e.g., over three hours), passengers can rebook on an alternative flight to the same destination in the same travel class free of charge or request a refund. If the rebooking does not suit, passengers can select another flight within the ticket’s validity period (usually one year from the original departure date).
- Medical Emergencies: In cases of serious illness (prognosis over 30 days or high-altitude flight risks), passengers may request a refund with medical documentation, assessed by the company doctor.
- EU/UK Passenger Rights: For flights departing from or arriving at EU/UK airports, passengers may be entitled to compensation for delays of three hours or more, cancellations without 14-day notice, or denied boarding, per EU/UK Regulation 261/2004, unless caused by extraordinary circumstances.
Additional Notes
- Non-Transferable Services: Paid extras, such as seat reservations, may not transfer to the new flight. If equivalent seats are unavailable or free, the seat reservation fee is non-refunded.
