Cabin Baggage:
  • Economy (Light Fare): 1 personal item only (max 40 x 30 x 15 cm, e.g., handbag, laptop bag). No standard carry-on bag included; must be checked for a fee if brought.
  • Economy (Standard, Flex), Premium Economy, Business, La Première: 1 carry-on bag (max 55 x 35 x 25 cm, including handles/wheels) + 1 personal item (max 40 x 30 x 15 cm). Premium Economy, Business, and La Première allow 2 carry-on bags + 1 personal item.
  • Weight Limits: Total combined weight (carry-on + personal item) max 12 kg (26.4 lbs) for Economy/Premium Economy; 18 kg (39.7 lbs) for Business/La Première.
  • Additional Items: Free items include jackets, duty-free bags, umbrellas, cameras, or reading material. For infants: 1 carry-on bag (max 12 kg, 55 x 35 x 25 cm) + diaper bag. Medical devices (e.g., crutches, collapsible wheelchairs) and small strollers (max 15 x 30 x 100 cm or 55 x 35 x 25 cm, in a carrying case) are allowed free.
  • Enforcement: Strict checks at check-in and gates, especially at Paris CDG, with sizers and scales. Oversized/overweight bags may be checked into the hold (fee: €20–€310, depending on route). On full flights, carry-on bags may be checked free; keep valuables/documents in personal item.
  • Liquids: Max 100 ml per container, total 1 liter, in a transparent, resealable plastic bag (1 per passenger). Duty-free liquids must remain sealed until the final destination.

Checked Baggage:

Allowance by Fare Type and Cabin (max dimensions 158 cm/62 in, length + width + height):

  • Economy Light: No free checked baggage; fees apply (€25–€192 online, €20–€310 at airport, depending on route).
  • Economy Standard/Flex: 1 bag, max 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Premium Economy: 2 bags, each max 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Business: 2 bags, each max 32 kg (70 lbs).
  • La Première: 3 bags, each max 32 kg (70 lbs).
  • Infants (under 2): 1 bag (max 10 kg/22 lbs, except Light fare) + 1 foldable stroller, car seat, or baby carrier. Children (2–11) with a seat get adult allowance.

Flying Blue/SkyTeam Benefits: Silver members get 1 extra bag (23 kg). Gold/Platinum and SkyTeam Elite/Elite Plus get 1 extra bag (23 kg Economy, 32 kg Business/La Première).

Excess Baggage Fees (per direction, approximate):

  • Extra Bag: €25–€192 online (24 hours prior for 20% discount), €20–€310 at airport (e.g., €70 within Europe, €85 Europe to U.S./Canada).
  • Overweight (23–32 kg): €70 (Europe), €85 (Europe to U.S./Canada).

Additional Notes:
  • Codeshare/Interline Flights: The most significant carrier’s rules (longest leg) apply. For Air France/KLM flights, check both airlines; stricter rules prevail. Baggage is usually checked through to the final destination on the same booking.
  • Lost/Damaged Baggage: Report damage within 7 days, lost baggage within 21 days at the airport’s Lost & Found or online (Property Irregularity Report). Compensation per Montreal Convention (up to ~€1,414). Track status online.
  • Check-In: Online check-in opens 30 hours before departure; baggage drop closes 60–90 minutes prior (varies by route). Airport check-in enforces size/weight limits.
