Air Seychelles Missed Flight Policy

Overview

Air Seychelles’ missed flight policy is governed by its Conditions of Carriage and Customer Service Plan. The policy outlines options for passengers who miss their flights due to personal reasons or airline-related issues, such as delays or cancellations. The outcome depends on the fare type, ticket conditions, and the reason for missing the flight.

Missed Flight Due to Passenger’s Responsibility

If you miss your flight due to arriving late, failing to check in on time, or lacking valid travel documents, the following may apply:

  • Non-Refundable Tickets: Many economy fares are non-refundable. If you miss your flight, you may lose the ticket value, though taxes and fees may be refundable upon request. Contact the Air Seychelles Contact Centre for assistance.
  • Flexible Fares: If you purchased a flexible fare, you may rebook to a later flight, subject to availability and fare rules. A fare difference or change fee may apply.
  • No-Show Policy: If you do not show up before the check-in deadline or fail to notify Air Seychelles at least 24 hours in advance, the airline may cancel your onward or return reservations and charge a reasonable administrative fee.
Note: Check-in deadlines are 3 hours to 45 minutes before departure for all flights. Online check-in is available from 24 hours to 2 hours before international flights and 1 hour before domestic flights. Ensure you arrive at the gate on time, as boarding closes prior to departure.
Missed Connecting Flight Due to Airline Delays

If you miss a connecting flight due to a delay or cancellation of an Air Seychelles-operated flight within the same booking, the airline will assist you as per their Customer Service Plan:

  • Rebooking: Air Seychelles will rebook you on the next available flight in the same class of service at no additional cost. If re-routing involves another carrier, it will be arranged without extra charge.
  • Right to Care: For significant delays or cancellations within Air Seychelles’ control requiring an overnight stay, the airline will provide refreshments, meals, and, if necessary, hotel accommodation and transport to/from the airport.
  • Refund Option: If you choose not to travel, you may request a refund for the unused portion of your ticket. Refunds for fully refundable tickets are processed within 60 business days.
  • Compensation: If the delay to your final destination exceeds certain thresholds and is within Air Seychelles’ control (e.g., technical issues, not weather or air traffic control), you may be eligible for compensation, particularly for flights to/from Israel under the Israel Aviation Services Law. Contact Air Seychelles for details.
Note: Compensation is not available for delays caused by extraordinary circumstances (e.g., weather or security issues). Claims must be submitted with relevant documentation, such as boarding passes and receipts.
Steps to Take if You Miss a Flight

If you miss your flight, follow these steps:

  1. Provide Booking Details: Have your booking reference, flight number, and passenger name ready.
  2. Explore Options: Depending on your fare type, you may rebook, receive a voucher, or request a refund (subject to fare rules).
  3. Submit a Claim (if applicable): For missed connections due to airline delays, file a claim via the Air Seychelles with your boarding pass, booking confirmation, and receipts for additional expenses.
