Cape Air Missed Flight Policy

Overview

Cape Air’s missed flight policy outlines options for passengers who fail to board their scheduled flight. The policy varies based on ticket type, fare rules, and whether the ticket was purchased directly from Cape Air or through a partner airline or agency.

Key Policy Details
  • No-Show Policy: If you miss your flight without canceling in advance, it is considered a "no-show." Tickets for no-show reservations are not eligible for refunds or to be applied toward future travel. The ticket is deemed to have no value.
  • Non-Refundable/Value Tickets: For non-refundable tickets, cancellations within 24 hours of departure may impact eligibility to reuse the ticket or apply its value toward future travel. If not canceled prior to departure, the ticket has no value.
  • Refundable Tickets: Refundable tickets may be refunded in full or part for unused portions, including fare, taxes, and other charges, less any applicable service fee. Refunds must be requested for tickets purchased directly from Cape Air.
  • Changes on Day of Departure: Changes to a flight on the day of departure are permitted if made before the original departure time and if Cape Air can accommodate the passenger on a new flight on the same day. This is not considered a cancellation.
  • TravelPass Reservations: TravelPass holders can cancel or change reservations up to 24 hours prior to departure without penalty. Within 24 hours, changes for same-day travel are allowed, but if rebooked for a different date, the original pass is forfeited, and an additional trip is required to hold the new segment. No-shows result in forfeiture of the trip with no refund of passes.
  • Extenuating Circumstances: In cases of extenuating circumstances, such as the death of a family member, Cape Air may, at its discretion, refund a non-refundable or refundable ticket in full or part or allow its value to be applied toward future travel.
  • Missed Connections Due to Delays: If you miss a connecting flight due to a delay or cancellation of a Cape Air flight on the same itinerary, the airline will rebook you on the next available flight at no additional cost. For significant delays within the airline’s control, you may be eligible for additional assistance, such as meals or accommodation.
Steps to Take if You Miss Your Flight
  • Contact Cape Air customer service immediately via the website or at an airport ticket counter to discuss rebooking or refund options.
  • Provide your booking reference and explain the circumstances of the missed flight to explore available options.
  • Review your ticket’s fare rules to understand eligibility for refunds, rebooking, or application of ticket value.
  • For TravelPass holders, manage cancellations or changes online through your profile or contact customer service for assistance.

Note: Policies vary based on fare type, booking source (Cape Air, partner airline, or agency), and specific circumstances. Always check fare rules at booking and retain documentation for claims. For the most current information, review Cape Air’s Contract of Carriage or contact customer service.

Additional Information

If Cape Air cancels or significantly delays your flight due to weather, maintenance, or crew issues, and alternate transportation is not provided, you may be eligible for a refund or the option to apply the ticket value toward future travel within one year from the purchase date. Keep all receipts and documentation for any expenses incurred due to a missed flight.
