- Sharp items (e.g., knives, scissors, tweezers) are prohibited in carry-on and must be checked; if found, they may be confiscated without airline liability.
- Smart bags with lithium batteries must have batteries removed and carried separately per safety regulations.
- On smaller aircraft, carry-on bags may be stowed in the cargo hold due to limited cabin space, retrievable upon arrival.

Size and Weight Limitations:

- The Most Significant Carrier’s (MSC) rules apply per IATA Resolution 302, typically the airline operating the longest leg. For Air Canada as the first carrier, allowances are two pieces (32 kg each) for Business and one piece (23 kg) for Economy for the entire journey.
- Baggage is checked through to the final destination for tickets with transfers in Taiwan or other hubs.
Special Items (Sporting Equipment, Musical Instruments, etc.):
- Allowance: Items like golf bags, bicycles, surfboards, and musical instruments count toward the free baggage allowance if within size (158 cm / 62 inches) and weight (23–32 kg) limits.
- Non-Accepted Items: Bags over 50 kg (110 lbs) or 100 x 60 x 40 cm (39 x 24 x 16 inches), hoverboards, and certain hazardous items are prohibited.
