Hong Kong Airlines Baggage Policy Overview
Carry-On Baggage:
  • Economy Class (All Fares): One carry-on bag, max 7 kg (15 lbs), dimensions up to 56 x 36 x 23 cm (22 x 14 x 9 in, including handles and wheels). One personal item (e.g., handbag, laptop bag, small backpack) allowed, no specific weight limit but must fit under the seat.
  • Business Class: Two carry-on bags, max 15 kg (33 lbs) total, each not exceeding 56 x 36 x 23 cm, plus one personal item.
  • Infants (under 2 years): No separate carry-on allowance; items must fit within the adult’s allowance.
  • Liquids, Aerosols, and Gels (LAGs): Containers up to 100 ml in a 1-liter transparent, resealable plastic bag (total volume not exceeding 1 liter). Duty-free LAGs over 100 ml (e.g., alcohol, perfumes) must be in sealed, tamper-evident bags with receipts displayed.
  • Notes: Bulkhead seat passengers must stow all carry-on in overhead bins during takeoff and landing. Excess or oversized carry-on is checked into the hold for HKD 500 (~$64 USD), regardless of checked baggage allowance. Strict enforcement reported at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG), with weight checks common, though dimension checks (e.g., 1 cm over) may be less strict on non-budget fares.
