Jet2 Flight Change Policy

Overview

Jet2 allows passengers to modify flight bookings, including changes to dates, times, or passenger names, subject to fare rules and availability. Changes must be made before check-in to avoid no-show penalties, which result in cancellation of the reservation and loss of ticket value. Fees and fare differences may apply based on fare type and timing. Changes to departure or destination airports are not permitted; passengers must cancel and rebook.

Key Conditions
  • Changes are permitted for tickets purchased through Jet2’s website, mobile app, call center, or airport sales desks.
  • Modifications to codeshare or interline flights are subject to the operating airline’s policies. Jet2 will notify passengers of carrier changes to ensure similar in-flight service and baggage allowances, though this is not guaranteed.
  • Changes must be made before online check-in, which opens several weeks before departure and closes a few hours before the scheduled flight time.
  • Name changes are allowed, enabling ticket transfers to another person, but must be made by the lead passenger. Minor spelling corrections of up to a few letters are free; corrections of more letters require contacting Jet2 by phone or email. Legal name changes (e.g., due to marriage or divorce) require supporting documents like a marriage certificate or legal name change certificate.
  • Tickets are valid for one year from issuance, unless otherwise specified in fare rules.
24-Hour Change Policy

Passengers can change their booking within one day of purchase at Jet2’s discretion, provided the booking was made directly through Jet2. This applies to most fare types, except group or promotional fares. Fare differences may apply if the new flight is more expensive.

Fare Type Policies
  • All Jet2 fares: Changes incur an administration fee per person, per one-way flight, plus fare differences if the new flight is more expensive. No refunds are issued if the new fare is lower, and original booking discounts do not apply to the new fare.
Change Fees
  • An administration fee is charged per person, per one-way flight for date or name changes, with additional costs for fare differences if the new flight is more expensive.
  • Minor spelling corrections of up to a few letters are free if made online or via the call center. Corrections of more letters incur a fee and require contacting Jet2.
  • No-show penalties apply if changes are not made before departure, resulting in loss of ticket value.
  • Service fees may apply for changes made via the call center or airport sales desks, charged per passenger per transaction.
  • Changes due to COVID-related reasons, such as self-isolation, may have fees waived if requested via the call center with supporting documentation.
How to Change a Flight

Passengers can modify their bookings through the following methods:

  • Online: Visit the “Manage My Booking” section on the Jet2 website or mobile app, enter the booking reference, lead passenger’s surname, and departure date, select new flight details, and pay any fees or fare differences. Changes must be made before online check-in.
  • Customer Service: Contact the Jet2 call center for assistance, especially for same-day changes, legal name corrections, or bookings not eligible for online modification. A service fee may apply.
  • In-Person: Visit a Jet2 airport sales desk at least a few hours before departure to process changes, subject to availability and fees.
  • Travel Agency: If booked through a third party, contact the agency to manage changes, which may involve additional fees.
Flight Disruptions
  • For cancellations or significant schedule changes known more than a few days in advance, Jet2 will notify passengers via email and offer rebooking on the next available flight without fees or fare differences, or a full refund to the original payment method if no suitable alternative is available.
  • Compensation may be provided under EU Regulation EC 261 for flights departing from EU airports, unless disruptions are due to extraordinary circumstances like weather or air traffic control issues.
  • Passengers can check rebooking options in the “Manage My Booking” section.
Additional Notes
  • Passengers should review fare rules at booking to understand change restrictions and costs.
  • Changes to bookings with additional services (e.g., baggage, seats) may require re-selection, as services may not transfer to the new flight.
  • Travel insurance is recommended to cover changes or cancellations due to unforeseen events. Jet2 offers insurance through its website or a dedicated insurance portal.
  • Group bookings or holiday packages may have additional restrictions, and changes must be made by the lead passenger via the call center or Pre-Travel Services team.
