Carry-On Baggage
  • All Passengers: One carry-on bag, max 7 kg (15 lbs), dimensions up to 56 x 36 x 23 cm (22 x 14 x 9 in, including handles and wheels), plus one small personal item (e.g., slimline laptop bag, handbag) designed to fit under the seat.
  • Infants (under 2 years): Same allowance as adults (7 kg carry-on plus personal item), plus one collapsible stroller and car seat free.
  • Liquids, Aerosols, Gels (LAGs): Containers up to 100 ml in a 1-liter transparent, resealable plastic bag (total volume ≤ 1 liter).
  • Notes: Strict enforcement at Johannesburg (JNB) and Cape Town (CPT). Oversized/overweight carry-on sent to check-in for an extra bag fee (~R410/~$25 USD at airport). Slimline laptop bags must be designed for laptop and charger only, not clothing/documents.
Checked Baggage
  • Max Limits: Each bag up to 20 kg (44 lbs), max 158 cm (62 in, length + width + height). Bags 20–32 kg incur a heavy bag fee; over 32 kg or 75 x 43 x 90 cm shipped as cargo.

    • Fly Light Fare: No free checked baggage.
    • Pack & Go Fare: 1 piece, 20 kg.
    • Fully Loaded Fare: 2 pieces, 20 kg each.

  • Children (2+ years): Same allowance as adults.
  • Infants (under 2 years): 10 kg checked baggage plus one collapsible stroller and car seat free. Infant fare ~R130 (~$8 USD) per trip.
  • Pooling: Not allowed; each passenger’s bag must not exceed 20 kg, even if shared (e.g., a family of 4 cannot check 2 bags of 30 kg each instead of 4 bags of 20 kg).
  • Notes: Kulula Credit Card holders received +5 kg free checked baggage. Check-in at least 30 min (domestic) or 40 min (international) before departure.
