Nok Air Flight Change Policy

Overview

Nok Air allows passengers to modify flight bookings, including changes to dates or times, subject to fare rules and availability. Changes must be made at least a few hours before departure to avoid no-show penalties, which result in cancellation of the reservation and loss of ticket value. A service fee applies for all changes, and fare differences may be charged based on fare type, route, and timing. Route changes are not permitted; passengers must cancel and rebook for different routes.

Key Conditions
  • Changes are permitted for tickets purchased through Nok Air’s website, mobile app, call center, airport ticket counters, or authorized travel agents. Tickets booked through third parties must be changed via the original booking agent.
  • Modifications to codeshare or interline flights, such as those operated by Scoot under NokScoot, are subject to the operating airline’s policies.
  • Changes must be made at least a few hours before departure, with online changes available via the “Manage Booking” section up to a short time before departure. Some users report technical errors with online changes, requiring alternative methods.
  • Name changes are permitted for a fee, provided they are made at least a few hours before departure. This allows passengers to transfer tickets to another person, unlike most low-cost carriers. Minor spelling corrections are also allowed with supporting documents like a passport or government-issued ID.
  • Tickets are valid for one year from issuance for wholly unused tickets, unless otherwise specified in fare rules.
24-Hour Change Policy

Passengers can change their booking within one day of purchase without a change fee, provided the flight is at least a week away and was booked directly through Nok Air’s website, app, or call center. A service fee still applies, and fare differences may be charged if the new flight is more expensive. This policy does not apply to promotional fares.

Fare Type Policies
  • Nok Lite: Changes are not permitted; tickets are non-refundable.
  • Nok X-tra: Changes incur a service fee, with fare differences if the new flight is more expensive. Non-refundable. Includes baggage allowance and seat selection.
  • Nok MAX: Unlimited changes without a change fee, but a service fee and fare differences apply if the new flight is more expensive. Refundable under certain conditions. Includes enhanced baggage allowance and priority services.
  • Nok Flexi: No change fees, but a service fee and fare differences apply if the new flight is more expensive. Can be purchased as an add-on to other fare types.
Change Fees
  • A service fee is charged per passenger for every booking change, regardless of fare type, for both domestic and international flights.
  • Fare differences are charged if the new flight is more expensive; no refund or credit is issued if the new fare is lower.
  • Name changes incur an additional fee, higher for international flights than domestic ones, on top of the service fee. Changes must be made at least a few hours before departure.
  • Service fees are higher for changes made via call center or airport ticket counters compared to online changes.
  • Changes due to exceptional circumstances, such as illness or death of a family member, may have fees waived with supporting documentation like a medical or death certificate.
How to Change a Flight

Passengers can modify their bookings through the following methods:

  • Online: Visit the “Manage Booking” section on the Nok Air website or app, enter the booking reference and last name, select new flight details, and pay any fees or fare differences. Changes must be made at least a day before departure. Technical issues may require alternative methods.
  • Customer Service: Contact the Nok Air call center for assistance, especially for same-day changes, name changes, or complex itineraries. A higher service fee applies. Response times may be slow, and email support is reportedly unreliable.
  • In-Person: Visit a Nok Air ticket counter at the airport to process changes, subject to availability and higher service fees. Changes must be made at least a day before departure.
  • Travel Agency: If booked through a third party, contact the agency to manage changes, which may involve additional fees.
Flight Disruptions
  • For cancellations or schedule changes, Nok Air may rebook passengers on the next available flight at no additional cost or offer a refund or voucher valid for several months. Notifications are sent via email or SMS if contact details are provided. However, some passengers report inadequate compensation or communication for disruptions.
  • Compensation may be provided under applicable regulations, such as Thai consumer protection laws, unless disruptions are due to extraordinary circumstances like weather or air traffic control issues.
  • Passengers affected by disruptions are advised to visit airport counters for rebooking, as phone and email support may be unresponsive.
Additional Notes
  • Passengers should review fare rules in the “Manage Booking” section or booking confirmation to understand change restrictions and costs.
  • Changes to bookings with additional services (e.g., baggage, seats) may require re-selection, as services may not transfer to the new flight.
  • Travel vouchers issued for changes are valid for several months, non-transferable, and applicable only to Nok Air flights.
  • Online check-in, available from a couple of days to a short time before departure, may restrict changes once completed.
