Pakistan International Airlines Flight Change Policy

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) allows passengers to modify their flight bookings under specific conditions, with rules and fees varying by fare type, route, and timing. Below is an overview of the flight change policy based on available information.

Online Changes

Passengers can modify bookings made through the PIA website or mobile app using the "My Booking" feature. This allows changes to flight dates and other details, subject to applicable fees and fare conditions. Access requires the booking reference and passenger's last name.

Offline Changes

For tickets purchased through travel agents, ticket offices, or for no-show cases, passengers must contact the PIA Contact Centre or visit a PIA ticket office for amendments. Additional service charges may apply for changes made offline.

Change Fees

Changes to date, time, or other booking details may incur a fee, depending on the fare type (Economy, Executive Economy, or Business) and destination. For certain routes, such as between Pakistan and the UK, one free date change in either direction is allowed if made at least a week before departure. Subsequent changes or those made closer to departure may incur a fee per person, per segment. Changes within a day of booking are typically free for eligible fares. Flex or higher fare classes may allow free changes, while Basic Economy tickets often incur higher fees.

Fare Differences

If the new flight is more expensive, passengers must pay the fare difference. No refund is provided if the new fare is lower, unless specified by fare rules.

Time Limits

For Economy class, changes must be made at least a week before departure to qualify for free changes on eligible routes. Executive Economy passengers may change within a few days of departure. Changes are generally allowed up to a few hours before departure, but restrictions apply closer to the flight time, and fees may increase.

Destination Changes

Web tickets are non-reroutable, meaning destination changes are not permitted. Passengers must cancel and rebook, subject to cancellation fees and fare differences.

Name Changes

PIA web tickets are non-transferable, so name changes are not allowed. Minor corrections may be possible through the Contact Centre, subject to verification and fees.

Airline-Initiated Changes

If PIA cancels or reschedules a flight, passengers are rebooked on the next available flight at no extra cost. If the new arrangement is unsuitable, a refund may be requested, credited to the original payment method. For cancellations due to extraordinary circumstances like weather, no compensation is provided, but rebooking is offered.

How to Change Your Flight

Passengers can modify bookings through the following methods:

  • Online: Access the "My Booking" section on the PIA website or app, enter booking details, and follow prompts to change dates or other details.
  • Offline: Contact the PIA Contact Centre via phone or email, or visit a PIA ticket office for assistance.
Additional Notes
  • Web tickets are non-transferable, non-endorsable, non-reroutable, and non-exchangeable, with changes subject to PIA’s terms and conditions.
  • Passengers should review fare rules for their ticket type and route, as conditions vary by itinerary.
  • For special cases like medical emergencies or stretcher cases, contact PIA directly for specific policies and applicable charges.
  • PIA reserves the right to update conditions and penalties without notice, and the airline’s viewpoint prevails in case of conflicts.
