Royal Air Maroc Baggage Policy Overview
Carry-On Baggage
  • All Passengers: One carry-on bag, max 10 kg (22 lbs), dimensions ≤115 cm (45 in, e.g., 55 x 40 x 20 cm or 21.7 x 15.7 x 7.9 in, including handles/wheels/pockets). One personal item (e.g., laptop, tablet, small handbag) allowed, not counted as carry-on. Must fit in overhead bin or under seat.
  • Infants (under 2 years, no seat): Reasonable baby food/milk/formula for flight duration. One stroller (≤15 x 30 x 100 cm or 5.9 x 11.8 x 39.4 in), car seat, or carrycot free, subject to space.
  • Liquids, Aerosols, Gels (LAGs): Containers ≤100 ml (3.4 oz) in a 1-liter transparent, resealable plastic bag (max 20 x 20 cm), presented separately at security. Duty-free liquids in Security Tamper Evident Bag with receipt (valid 48h) allowed.
  • Additional Free Items: Assistive devices (e.g., crutches, canes, portable oxygen concentrators), small camera, reasonable reading material, coat, umbrella.
  • Notes: Strict checks at Casablanca (CMN), Paris (CDG), and New York (JFK). Oversized/overweight bags checked at gate for ~$50–$100 USD. If cabin space is limited, carry-on may be placed in hold with a receipt.
Checked Baggage
  • Max Limits: Each bag ≤32 kg (70 lbs), sum of three dimensions ≤203 cm (80 in). Bags >32 kg or >203 cm sent as cargo. Exceptions: Dammam (≤158 cm), Dublin (≤240 cm).
  • Piece Concept (Most Routes):
    • Eco Essential: No free checked baggage.
    • Eco Classic/Flex/Serenity (Africa, Europe, Maghreb, Middle East): 1 piece, ≤23 kg (50 lbs).
    • Eco Classic/Flex/Serenity (America): 2 pieces, each ≤23 kg (50 lbs).
    • Business (Essential/Classic/Flex/Serenity): 2 pieces, each ≤32 kg (70 lbs).
    • Morocco to Saudi Arabia: 2 pieces, each ≤23 kg (50 lbs) for Economy; 3 pieces, each ≤32 kg (70 lbs) for Business.
    • Laayoune/Dakhla to/from Las Palmas: 1 piece, ≤23 kg (50 lbs) for Economy; 2 pieces, each ≤32 kg (70 lbs) for Business.
    • Turkey to/from Africa: 2 pieces, each ≤23 kg (50 lbs) for Economy; 2 pieces, each ≤32 kg (70 lbs) for Business.
  • Infants: 10 kg (22 lbs) or 1 piece ≤23 kg (50 lbs) for piece concept routes, plus one stroller/car seat/carrycot free, subject to space.
  • Children (2+ years): Same allowance as adult ticket type.
  • Safar Flyer Members: Additional allowance: Silver (15 kg/1 piece ≤23 kg), Gold (20 kg/1 piece ≤23 kg), Platinum (25 kg/2 pieces ≤23 kg).
  • Notes: Allowance indicated on ticket under “PC” code. Max 10 pieces per passenger to/from Bamako (peak periods excluded). Madrid–Malabo limited to 2 extra pieces. Check baggage calculator.
Excess Baggage Fees (One-Way)
  • Piece Concept (Africa, Europe, Maghreb, Middle East):
    • Extra piece (≤23 kg): ~$55–$165 USD, route-dependent.
    • Overweight (23–32 kg): ~$55–$110 USD per piece.
    • Oversized (>203 cm): ~$110–$220 USD per piece.
  • Piece Concept (America):
    • Extra piece (≤23 kg): ~$100–$200 USD.
    • Overweight (23–32 kg): ~$100–$150 USD per piece.
    • Oversized (>203 cm, ≤300 cm): ~$150–$300 USD per piece.
  • Prepaid Baggage: Purchase >6h before departure for up to 20% savings. Non-refundable unless flight canceled.
  • Notes: Fees vary by route; check via baggage calculator.
Special Baggage
  • Sports Equipment (e.g., golf bags, bicycles, surfboards, skis): Counts toward free allowance if ≤23 kg (Economy) or ≤32 kg (Business), ≤203 cm. Excess fees: ~$55–$200 USD per piece, route-dependent. Bicycles require pedals removed, handlebars turned, packed securely. Pre-book >24h via call center.
  • Musical Instruments: Within carry-on limits (≤10 kg, ≤115 cm) or checked (≤23 kg/32 kg, ≤203 cm). Larger instruments require extra seat (same fare, ≤75 kg) or cargo. Pre-book >24h.
  • Pets: Small pets (≤8 kg with carrier) in cabin, fees ~$70–$200 USD, route-dependent. Larger pets in cargo hold, fees ~$100–$300 USD. Assistance dogs free with >48h notice, documentation. Pre-book via call center.
  • Wheelchairs/Mobility Aids: Free, no weight limit, with >48h notice. Batteries insulated, secured.
  • Strollers/Car Seats/Carrycots: Free for infants (≤15 x 30 x 100 cm), checked or gate-checked, subject to space.
  • Medical Equipment (e.g., portable oxygen concentrators): Free in cabin with prior approval via call center.
  • Firearms/Ammunition (sporting): Max 5 kg ammunition, checked in locked hard case, fees ~$50–$150 USD. Pre-book >48h with documentation.

Prohibited Items
  • Checked Baggage: Explosives, flammable liquids/gases, corrosives, e-cigarettes, lithium batteries >160 Wh, hoverboards, valuables (e.g., jewelry, money, electronics).
  • Carry-On Baggage: Sharp objects (e.g., knives, scissors >6 cm), firearms, stun devices, toy weapons, liquids >100 ml (except LAGs bag). One lighter allowed in transparent bag or on person.
  • Notes: Medications exempt with prescription; keep in carry-on. USA/Canada may open locked bags for security; avoid locking to prevent damage. Check destination restrictions (e.g., EU, USA). Remove old baggage tags.
Lost, Damaged, or Delayed Baggage
  • Reporting: File Property Irregularity Report (PIR) immediately at airport baggage desk or within 7 days (damage/loss) or 21 days (delay). Retain tickets, baggage tags, receipts, PIR.
  • Liability: Max 1,288 Special Drawing Rights (~$1,800 USD) unless higher value declared. No liability for fragile, valuable, or perishable items.
