Scoot Missed Flight Policy

If you miss a Scoot flight, the airline’s policies, as outlined in their Conditions of Carriage, will apply. Below is an overview of what happens and your options when you miss a flight.

No-Show Policy

If you miss your flight without notifying Scoot in advance, it is considered a "no-show." This may result in the cancellation of your return flight or subsequent flights in the same booking. Scoot’s tickets are generally non-refundable, and you may lose the ticket value unless specific exceptions apply.

  • Notification: If you miss your outbound flight, you must contact Scoot within forty-eight hours from the departure time to confirm travel on any return flight in the same booking. Failure to do so may lead to the cancellation of the return flight without compensation.
  • Fees: A no-show may result in the loss of the ticket value for non-refundable fares. If rebooking is permitted, a change fee and fare difference may apply.
  • Impact on Itinerary: Missing an outbound flight may lead to the cancellation of return flights in the same booking unless you confirm your intent to travel on the return flight within forty-eight hours.
Rebooking Options

If you miss a flight due to reasons within your control, you may be able to rebook on a later flight, subject to availability and fare rules. Changes can be made up to four hours before the new flight’s departure. Additional charges may include:

  • Change Fee: A fee for modifying your booking, which varies by fare type and region. Changes can be made online via Manage My Booking, the Scoot mobile app, or through the Call Centre.
  • Fare Difference: Any difference between the original fare and the new flight’s fare. If the new fare is cheaper, no refund for the difference is provided.
  • Name Changes: Name changes are permitted for all flights in the booking up to four hours before departure, subject to a fee and fare difference. This applies to all passengers on the booking.
  • Interline Bookings: If your booking includes flights operated by partner airlines, flight date, time, or name changes are not permitted.

If you miss a connecting flight due to a delay caused by Scoot, and both flights are on the same booking itinerary, the airline will rebook you on the next available flight at no additional cost. If the flights are on separate bookings, Scoot is not responsible for missed connections, and you may need to purchase a new ticket.

Compensation and Refunds

Refunds or compensation for missed flights are limited and depend on the fare type and circumstances:

  • Non-Refundable Tickets: Scoot tickets, including Economy Fly, FlyBag, and FlyBagEat fares, are generally non-refundable and non-cancellable if you miss the flight, resulting in the loss of the ticket value.
  • Refundable Cases: Refunds are available in specific cases, such as a significant schedule change or disruption of four hours or more, or the death of the passenger or an immediate family member (spouse, child, sibling, parent, grandparent, or grandchild). Refunds are processed within approximately twenty business days and may be issued as travel vouchers.
  • Airline-Caused Delays: If you miss a flight due to a delay or cancellation caused by Scoot, and the delay is four hours or more, you may be eligible for a refund or rebooking without additional fees. For flights departing from or arriving in the EU or UK, if you arrive more than three hours late due to an airline-caused delay, you may be entitled to compensation under EU261 or UK261 regulations, ranging from two hundred fifty euros to six hundred euros or two hundred twenty pounds to five hundred twenty pounds, depending on flight distance.
  • Airport Taxes and Fees: If you miss a flight, you may request a refund for airport taxes and fees within one month of the travel date, subject to an administration fee.
Steps to Take if You Miss a Flight

If you miss your flight, follow these steps:

  • Contact Scoot within forty-eight hours via their Call Centre, Manage My Booking portal, or at the airport counter to confirm travel on any return flight or explore rebooking options.
  • Review your ticket’s fare rules and the Scoot Fees Chart to understand applicable fees and refund eligibility.
  • If the missed flight was due to an airline-caused delay of four hours or more, request rebooking or a refund through the Call Centre or website.
  • For tickets purchased through a travel agent, contact the agent directly for changes or refunds, as Scoot may require verification.
  • Consider purchasing travel insurance, such as Scootsurance, to cover unexpected issues like missed flights due to personal reasons.
Additional Information

For flights departing from or arriving in the EU or UK, if you miss a connecting flight due to an airline-caused delay and arrive at your destination three hours or more late, you may be entitled to compensation under EU261 or UK261 regulations, provided the delay was within Scoot’s control. Compensation is not provided for delays or cancellations due to extraordinary circumstances, such as weather or air traffic control issues. For connecting flights, ensure your itinerary is on a single booking to avoid responsibility for missed connections.
