Scoot Name Change Policy

Overview

Scoot, a low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, allows name corrections and full name changes on tickets under specific conditions. The policy accommodates minor errors and legal name changes, as well as ticket transfers to another person, subject to fees and restrictions.

Key Policy Details
  • Minor name corrections, such as spelling errors or reversed names, are permitted, typically up to three characters, and are free if made within a short period after booking, usually a day, for tickets booked directly through Scoot’s website or app.
  • Corrections for legal name changes, such as those due to marriage or divorce, are allowed with supporting documents like a marriage certificate or legal name change document.
  • Full name changes to transfer a ticket to another person are permitted up to a few hours before departure, but a name change fee applies, and the new ticket must be of equal or higher value. The fee varies based on the route, fare type, and method of change.
  • Name changes are not allowed for interline bookings involving partner airlines or for certain promotional fares, such as Two-to-Go promotions, where changes must apply to all passengers.
  • Bookings made through travel agents must have name corrections or changes processed through the agent, not directly with Scoot.
  • The name on the ticket must match the traveler’s passport or government-issued ID exactly to avoid boarding issues.
How to Make Name Corrections or Changes

Name corrections or changes can be made through the following methods:

  • Online: Visit the Scoot website, access the Manage Booking section, enter the booking reference and last name, select the option to change or correct the name, make the necessary changes, upload required documents if needed, and pay any applicable fees. A confirmation email with the updated ticket will be sent.
  • Customer Service: Contact Scoot’s customer support, provide the booking reference and passenger details, request the correction or change, and submit necessary documents. Fees may apply, and a confirmation email will be sent upon completion.
  • In-Person: Visit a Scoot ticket office or airport counter, provide the booking reference and identification documents, and request the correction or change. Higher fees may apply, and a confirmation email will be sent.
Important Notes
  • Name changes or corrections are permitted up to a few hours before departure, but changes must apply to all flights for that passenger in the booking.
  • Online name changes are typically cheaper than those made via customer service or at the airport. Fees vary based on fare type, route, and timing.
  • Passengers should ensure the name matches their passport or ID exactly, as discrepancies may lead to boarding denials.
  • For legal name changes, original documents must be presented for verification, either online or in-person.
  • If a ticket cannot be used, canceling and rebooking may sometimes be more cost-effective than a name change, depending on fare conditions.
