Carry-On Baggage Allowance
Sun Country Airlines allows passengers to bring one personal item free of charge, which must fit under the seat. Carry-on bags placed in overhead bins incur a fee.

- Personal items include purses, backpacks, or small duffel bags.
- Items like jackets, umbrellas, diaper bags, duty-free items, and assistive devices (e.g., wheelchairs, strollers) do not count toward the carry-on allowance.
- Infants have no carry-on allowance, but one diaper bag per infant is permitted.
- Carry-on bags must fit in sizer boxes at check-in counters or gates.

- Bags exceeding 50 lbs or 62 linear inches incur additional fees (e.g., $75 for 51–99 lbs).
- Bags over 100 lbs or 80 in are not accepted; on flights to/from Canada, Jamaica, or Puerto Rico, bags over 70 lbs are not accepted.
- Strollers and car seats can be checked free of charge at the ticket counter or gate.
Special Baggage
Sports Equipment
Sports equipment (e.g., skis, golf bags) counts as one checked bag if within size/weight limits. A hard case is recommended for storage.
- Ski equipment: One pair of skis, poles, bindings, and boots, or one snowboard with bindings and boots (up to 6 ft long).
- Golf equipment: One golf bag, clubs, and one pair of shoes.
- Excess size/weight incurs additional fees.
Musical Instruments
Small instruments can be carried on if they fit within carry-on size limits (24 x 16 x 11 in). Larger instruments may require checking in a hard case or purchasing an extra seat.
Pets
Small cats and dogs can travel in the cabin for $125 each way, subject to space availability. Pre-booking is required.
Excess and Oversized Baggage Fees
Additional fees apply for oversized or overweight baggage.
- Oversized (62–80 in): $25 (starting Sept 3, 2025).
- Overweight (51–99 lbs): $75.
- Bags over 80 in or 100 lbs are not accepted.
Baggage Fee Exemptions
- Active U.S. Military: Up to 3 free bags (2 checked, 1 overhead), with oversized fees waived for the first 2 checked bags. A valid Common Access Card is required.
- Sun Country Airlines Visa Signature Cardholders: 50% off the first bag when purchased online, including for one companion on the same reservation.
- Ufly Rewards Elite Members: One free checked bag per flight.
- First Class: Two free checked bags.
- Sun Country Vacation Packages: May include free checked baggage.
Prohibited Items
Certain items are restricted or prohibited due to safety regulations.
- Personal electronic devices with batteries can be carried in checked or carry-on baggage, subject to restrictions.

Lost or Damaged Baggage
If baggage is lost or damaged, file a claim at the airport baggage area before leaving.

- Items left on a Sun Country plane: Complete the online lost and found form.

- Baggage fees are non-refundable and apply per person, per bag, each way.

- Baggage must be checked at least 45 minutes before departure (3 hours for San Francisco and Fort Myers).
