- Carry-on baggage must fit in overhead bins or under the seat. Bulkhead seats lack under-seat storage, so all items must be stowed overhead during takeoff and landing.
- Personal items include briefcases, camera bags, or small backpacks.
- Liquids in carry-on must be in containers of 100 ml or less, placed in a 1-liter transparent, resealable plastic bag.
- Passengers on flights with 50 seats or less are limited to one personal item due to limited overhead space.

Special Baggage
Sports Equipment
Sports equipment (e.g., skis, golf bags, bicycles, diving gear) counts as one checked bag if within size/weight limits; otherwise, fees apply.
- Free if within allowance limits; otherwise, $160–$380 USD for oversized/overweight items.
- Contact TAAG’s reservations department in advance for large items like bicycles or surfboards.
Musical Instruments
Small instruments can be carried as cabin baggage if within size/weight limits. Larger instruments may require checking or an extra seat purchase.
- Checked instruments are subject to standard baggage fees or excess fees if oversized/overweight.
- Hard cases are recommended for checked instruments.
Pets
Dogs, cats, and household birds (birds on domestic Angola flights only) can travel in the cabin or as checked baggage.
- Cabin: $125 USD one-way (domestic), $200 USD (international). Carrier must fit under the seat and counts as carry-on luggage.
- Checked: Subject to standard baggage fees and requires advance approval with documentation.
Prohibited Items
Certain items are restricted or prohibited for safety and legal reasons.
- Carry-on: Liquids over 100 ml, sharp objects, flammable items.
- Checked: Loose lithium batteries, hazardous materials, items banned by destination country laws (e.g., perishable goods).
Lost, Damaged, or Delayed Baggage
TAAG provides assistance for baggage issues under the Montreal/Warsaw Conventions.
- Delayed: Report at the airport’s Lost and Found desk and file a Property Irregularity Report (PIR).
- Damaged: Report at the airport within 7 days with the damaged bag for inspection.
- Lost: File a claim within 7 days for lost baggage or 21 days for delayed baggage expenses. Compensation up to 1,288 SDR.
Additional Notes
- Check-in: Online 36 hours (international) or 24 hours (domestic) to 90 minutes (international) or 60 minutes (domestic) before departure. Airport check-in opens 4 hours and closes 90 minutes before departure.
- In-flight cots for babies (up to 16 kg) and one extra bag for baby amenities are allowed.
- Guide dogs travel free in the cabin; other pets may be transported as cargo with advance approval.
- Pack valuables and medications in carry-on to avoid issues with checked baggage.
