Carry-On Baggage Allowance
Transavia allows one free small hand luggage item per passenger. A larger cabin bag requires an additional fee, with priority boarding included for overhead storage.

- Small hand luggage (e.g., backpack, handbag) must fit under the seat in front of you.
- Cabin bags (e.g., trolley, travel bag) are stored in overhead bins and require prior booking due to limited space. Included with Smart or Max fares.
- Additional items (e.g., umbrella, walking stick, one duty-free bag) are permitted free of charge.
- Transavia strictly enforces size limits at check-in or gate using measurement devices. Oversized bags incur a €40 fee to be checked into the hold.
- Infants (on lap) have no separate luggage allowance; baby essentials must fit in the adult’s hand luggage.
- Children (2+ years) have the same allowance as adults (one small hand luggage, 40 x 30 x 20 cm).
Checked Baggage Allowance
No checked baggage is included in the ticket price. Passengers can purchase up to five pieces of hold luggage, with a total weight limit of 50 kg per passenger.

- Maximum weight per bag is 32 kg; bags over 32 kg are not accepted.
- Fees vary by route and are cheaper when booked online. Airport fees start at €12–€15 per extra kg.
- Check-in for hold luggage must be completed at least 2 hours before departure.
- Infants can have one collapsible buggy or car seat (up to 10 kg) checked free, stored in the hold.

Musical Instruments

Lost, Damaged, or Delayed Baggage
Transavia handles baggage issues under the Montreal Convention.
- Delayed: Report at the airport’s Lost and Found desk within 24 hours and file a Property Irregularity Report (PIR).
- Damaged: Report within 7 days at the airport with the bag for inspection.
- Lost: File a claim within 7 days for lost baggage or 21 days for delayed baggage expenses. Compensation up to 1,288 SDR.

- Check-in: Online 30 hours to 4 hours before departure; airport check-in closes 60 minutes (international) or 40 minutes (domestic) before departure.
- Bookings via partner airlines (e.g., KLM, Delta) may have different allowances, e.g., one small hand luggage (40 x 30 x 20 cm) and one cabin bag (55 x 40 x 25 cm) for Economy, or two cabin bags for Premium Comfort, with a combined 10 kg limit.
- Transavia is strict about size and weight, with measurements at check-in or gate. Social media reports indicate enforcement of the new policy, with fees up to €70 for non-compliant bags.
- Mobility aids (e.g., wheelchairs up to 86 cm height) are free but require 72-hour advance notice.
- Pack valuables and essentials in hand luggage to avoid issues with checked baggage.
