Transavia Airlines, a Dutch low-cost carrier, offers flexibility for passengers to modify their bookings, with rules and fees varying by fare type and timing. Below is an overview of the flight change policy based on available information.
Passengers who booked through the Transavia website or mobile app can modify bookings via the "My Transavia" section by logging into their account and entering their booking reference and surname. Changes include flight date, time, or passenger details, and can be made up to a couple of hours before departure, subject to availability and fare rules. A new booking confirmation is sent upon completion.
For tickets purchased through travel agents or third-party platforms, passengers must contact the issuing agent to request changes, as direct modifications through Transavia are not permitted. For bookings made through KLM, changes must be handled via the KLM Service Centre.
Transavia offers four fare types—Basic, Smart, Plus, and Max—along with an optional Flex add-on, each with distinct change policies:
Changes made within a day of booking are free if the flight is at least a day away. Beyond this period, Basic and Smart fares incur a change fee per seat per flight, with a higher fee for changes made via the Service Centre. Plus fares incur a fee for changes within a couple of weeks of departure. Max fares and Flex add-on bookings are exempt from change fees but require fare differences if the new ticket is more expensive. Additional service charges apply for changes made via the Service Centre or airport counters.
If the new flight is more expensive, passengers must pay the fare difference in addition to any change fee. No refund is provided if the new fare is lower.
Changes can be made up to a couple of hours before departure for most fares, except for flights with special luggage, pets, or medical services, which require changes via the Service Centre up to a day before departure. No changes are permitted after check-in.
Changes to the origin or destination are allowed only via the Service Centre up to a day before departure, subject to availability, a change fee, and fare differences. The Flex add-on does not cover destination changes, which require the same departure and destination airports.
One free change per passenger is allowed for first name, surname, date of birth, or gender. Additional changes or name transfers incur a fee per one-way flight, plus any fare difference if the new ticket is more expensive. Minor spelling corrections are free up to a couple of hours before departure via the Service Centre. Changes are not permitted within a couple of hours of departure, after check-in, or if the outbound flight of a round-trip has already departed.
If Transavia cancels or significantly delays a flight (more than a few hours), passengers can rebook on another Transavia flight or a partner airline within the Air France KLM group, subject to availability, or request a full refund or a voucher valid for a year. Refunds are processed within a week, and passengers who wish to keep their return flight must contact the Service Centre within a day to avoid automatic cancellation.
Passengers can modify bookings through the following methods:
