Transavia Airlines Name Change Policy

Overview

Transavia Airlines, a low-cost carrier operating in Europe, allows one free change per passenger for minor corrections to first name, last name, or date of birth, as well as gender changes. Additional changes or ticket transfers to another person are permitted with a fee, ensuring the name matches the traveler’s passport or government-issued ID for security and compliance purposes.

Key Policy Details
  • One free change per passenger is allowed for first name, last name, or date of birth. Gender changes are always free. Minor spelling corrections, such as fixing typos, are included in this free change, provided they align with the passport or ID.
  • Additional changes beyond the first free change incur a change fee per one-way journey, with a higher fee if made through customer service. If the new ticket price is higher, the fare difference must also be paid.
  • Full name changes to transfer a ticket to another person are permitted, subject to the same change fee per one-way journey and any fare difference. All booked services, such as hold luggage or seat reservations, remain valid for the new passenger.
  • Name changes or corrections cannot be made if the flight departs in less than two hours, if the passenger has already checked in, or if a return flight’s outbound leg has already been flown.
  • Bookings made through travel agents or third-party platforms must have name changes processed through the original booking provider, not directly with Transavia.
  • The name on the ticket must exactly match the first and last name on the traveler’s passport or ID, omitting apostrophes or accented letters to avoid system errors. For Dutch passengers, maiden names should be used as listed in the passport.
  • Name changes are not permitted for codeshare flights not operated by Transavia or for certain promotional fares.
How to Make Name Changes or Corrections

Name changes or corrections can be made through the following methods:

  • Online: Log into the My Transavia section on the Transavia website, enter the booking reference and last name, select the option to change passenger details, make the correction or change, upload required documents if needed, and pay any applicable fees. A confirmation email with the updated ticket will be sent within minutes.
  • Customer Service: Contact the Transavia Service Centre via phone, social media, or email, provide the booking reference and passenger details, request the change or correction, and submit necessary documents, such as a passport or ID. A higher fee may apply, and a confirmation email will be sent upon completion.
  • Travel Agency: For bookings made through a travel agency, contact the agency directly to request the change or correction, provide required documents, and pay any applicable fees. The agency will coordinate with Transavia.
Important Notes
  • Name changes or corrections must be made at least two hours before departure, and earlier requests are recommended to avoid complications at check-in.
  • Fees for additional name changes or ticket transfers vary, with a higher fee charged for changes made through customer service. Fare differences may apply if the new ticket is more expensive.
  • Passengers should ensure the name matches their passport or ID exactly, using the maiden name for Dutch passengers and omitting special characters to prevent system errors.
  • All additional services, such as baggage or seat reservations, remain valid after a name change, but passengers should confirm with the airline or agency.
  • For legal name changes, supporting documents like a marriage certificate or court order must be provided for verification.
  • Passengers with bookings through third-party platforms should contact their booking agent, as Transavia may not process changes directly for such reservations.
