TUIfly, a Belgian airline and part of the TUI Group, allows passengers to modify flight bookings under specific conditions, with rules and fees varying by fare type, route, and timing. Below is an overview of the flight change policy based on available information.
Passengers who booked through the TUIfly website or app can modify bookings via the myTUI section by entering their booking reference and PIN or surname. Changes include flight date, time, or destination, and can be made up to a few hours before departure, subject to availability and fare rules. For Moroccan destinations booked through the Morocco site, specific change procedures apply via the Service and Contact page.
For tickets purchased through travel agents or third-party platforms, passengers must contact the issuing agent to request changes, as direct modifications through TUIfly are not permitted. For bookings with other airlines, such as codeshare partners, changes must align with the operating carrier’s policies.
TUIfly offers various fare types, primarily Economy, with optional add-ons affecting change policies:
Changes made within a day of booking are free if the flight is at least a few days away. Beyond this period, a fee applies per person per segment for short and medium-haul flights, with a higher fee for long-haul flights to destinations like Cuba, Dominican Republic, or the USA. Changes within a few days of departure are treated as cancellations, retaining the full fare. Additional service charges apply for changes made via the Service Centre or airport counters. If the new fare is higher, passengers pay the difference; no refund is provided if the new fare is lower.
If the new flight is more expensive, passengers must pay the fare difference in addition to any change fee. No refund is provided if the new fare is lower, as the modification fee remains applicable.
Changes are permitted up to a few hours before departure for most fares, but within a few days of departure, changes are treated as cancellations with no refund. Tickets are valid for one year from issuance, and changes must occur within this period. Changes are not possible for partially used tickets or after check-in.
Destination changes are allowed as itinerary modifications, subject to availability, a change fee, and fare differences. These must be processed via myTUI or the Service Centre and are not permitted for partially used tickets or within a few days of departure.
Ticket transfers to another person are allowed for all flights in the booking, provided the new passenger meets transport conditions. A fee applies per person per segment, doubled if combined with a rebooking. Minor name changes can be made via myTUI, while complex changes require contacting the Service Centre. Name changes are not permitted for partially used tickets or within a few days of departure.
If TUIfly cancels or significantly delays a flight, passengers can rebook on another TUIfly flight or a partner airline at no cost, subject to availability, or request a refund of government taxes only, as fares are non-refundable. EU regulations may entitle passengers to compensation up to a certain amount for cancellations with less than two weeks’ notice, unless due to extraordinary circumstances like weather or air traffic control strikes. Notifications are sent via email or SMS.
