Passengers who booked through the Turkish Airlines website or mobile app can modify bookings via the "Manage Booking" section by entering their booking reference or e-ticket number and last name. Changes include flight date, time, or destination, and can be made up to a few hours before departure, subject to availability and fare rules. Changes to award tickets or complex itineraries may require contacting the airline directly.

Third-Party Bookings

For tickets purchased through travel agents or third-party platforms, passengers must contact the issuing agent to request changes, as direct modifications through Turkish Airlines are not permitted. Additional handling fees may apply when processed through agents.

Fare Types and Change Rules

Turkish Airlines offers various fare types, including EcoFly, ExtraFly, PrimeFly, and Business, each with distinct change policies:

  • EcoFly: Changes are not permitted for domestic or international flights, except in specific cases like airline-initiated disruptions.
  • ExtraFly: Changes incur a fee per person per segment, with fees varying by route and timing.
  • PrimeFly: Changes incur a lower fee or may be free, depending on fare conditions.

Change Fees

Beyond this period, ExtraFly and PrimeFly fares incur fees, with higher fees for changes made within a day of departure. Fees are higher for international flights compared to domestic routes and for changes made via the Call Centre, ticket offices, or airport counters. Business class and flexible fares may waive fees under certain conditions. No-show fees apply if changes are not made before departure. Fare differences apply if the new flight is more expensive.

Fare Differences

If the new flight is more expensive, passengers must pay the fare difference in addition to any change fee. No refund is provided if the new fare is lower, unless specified by fare rules. For Miles&Smiles award tickets, additional miles may be required for changes.

Time Limits

Changes are permitted up to a few hours before departure for most fares, with stricter limits for domestic flights or EcoFly tickets. Changes within a day of departure incur higher fees, and no changes are allowed after departure or for partially used tickets. Tickets are valid for one year from issuance, with changes limited to this period.

Destination Changes

Route changes are allowed for ExtraFly, PrimeFly, and Business fares, subject to availability, a fee, and fare differences. EcoFly tickets do not permit route changes. Name Changes

Full name changes or ticket transfers to another person are not permitted. Minor spelling corrections are allowed with a fee, provided the request is made before check-in via the Call Centre or ticket office. Documentation, such as a passport, may be required to verify corrections.

Airline-Initiated Changes

If Turkish Airlines cancels or significantly delays a flight by a few hours or more, passengers can rebook on another flight within a short period before or after the original date at no cost, subject to availability, or request a full refund, even for non-refundable tickets. EU regulations may entitle passengers to compensation for cancellations with less than a couple of weeks’ notice, unless due to extraordinary circumstances like weather or air traffic control issues.
