Carry-On Baggage Allowance

All passengers are allowed one carry-on bag and one personal item, with weight limits varying by fare type. Items must fit in overhead bins or under the seat.

Personal items include purses, laptop bags, backpacks, or camera bags; must fit under the seat.
Liquids, aerosols, and gels in carry-on are restricted to 100 ml containers in a 1-liter transparent, resealable bag. Liquid medicines (100 ml) with a prescription are allowed. For U.S. flights, powdered products over 350 g are prohibited, except baby formula, water, and food.
Excess carry-on (over weight or size) is checked into the hold with fees; oversized bags may be refused if they don’t fit overhead bins.
Passengers report strict weight enforcement at boarding gates, with occasional leniency on size (e.g., 1-inch height excess may be allowed).

Lost, Damaged, or Delayed Baggage

VivaAerobus follows the Montreal Convention for baggage issues.

Delayed: Report at the airport’s Baggage Services desk before leaving and file a Property Irregularity Report (PIR). Claims within 21 days.
Damaged: Report within 7 days at the airport with a Damage Baggage Report.
Lost: File a claim within 7 days; compensation up to 1,288 SDR. Passengers report issues with lost baggage claims, including delays and non-delivery.

Additional Notes

Check-in: Online check-in available 72 hours to 4 hours before departure; airport check-in closes 45 minutes (domestic) or 60 minutes (international) before departure. A $12 USD fee applies for boarding pass printing at the airport.
